A Domestic Discipline Society: Thank you to our Quiet Readers, We Love our Lurkers!

A Domestic Discipline Society readers come from all areas of the Domestic Discipline, Spanking and greater lifestyle community. Many are silent readers also known as Lurkers. Today is a special day set aside for us bloggers to say thank you for coming by and reading our musings, posts and articles.


The official LOL Day was 11/12, but it's alright to continue to share and de-lurk. After all not everyone was online on or just after the 12th. There's usually a recap on Bonnie's MY Bottom Smarts blog and we'll continue here until her recap, I'll do a little recap of our own for ADDS participants and that will also give me some time to reply to each person who kindly stopped by to share and/or participate here for the first time or the most recent time! :)


The pages here on the ADDS site have been turned over half a million times in just the past year. Out of those half a million, only about a thousand comments have been registered. (Ok, so there's been about 100k but the advertisements don't get posted) That means there's a whole lot of people reading along that prefer not to comment. Of course that's fine, completely acceptable and no one has to comment. I appreciate that everyone has accepted ADDS so quickly and comes here to read so often.

What I have noticed in just over a year after activating this site, is that the gap between all those visitors coming here regularly and reading, and the people who decide to leave a comment... there are a whole lot of quiet readers out there :) 

Our friend Bonnie, from My Bottom Smarts (MBS) blog started something very special eight years ago to thank all of our quiet readers, or Lurkers as they are known. Love our Lurkers day is here again and is meant to say thank you and invite even the most shy reader to simply say "Hi" or leave a short comment.  
I have seen where a shy reader steps out and says hello and it has led to them becoming more participatory and in a few cases they have even gone on to begin their very own blog some time afterward. But, if you're a quiet reader let me say thank you. You are the backbone of blogland.

I was a silent reader for many years. I moderated the ADDS discussion groups starting in 2005 and also Spanking/ DD social networking site along with being very active in the DD community in several areas. But, as far as blogland was concerned, I just didn't leave comments. It's hard to explain why. I enjoyed the blogs and sites I visited and referred many to people from all the ADDS groups. It was several years ago when I came across a Love Our Lurkers post on Bonnie's MBS blog that I decided to say hello. 

Everyone is cordially invited to leave a comment here and elsewhere today and the next few days during the Love Our Lurker festivities! Hopefully on this special day, or the few days to come, you'll decide to step forward and say hello if you'd like. Use Anonymous choice or any nickname you like. If on this day, where many people find blogs they haven't seen before, or haven't had the chance to comment... you can take the time to say Hi also :)

Usually, there are pics and a snippet of information provided on the Sharing DD Blog blogroll and DD Friendly Spanking Blog and DD Friendly Author Bog blogrolls... but today (11/12), the ALL DD Blogs blog list will also show a pic so you can more easily find other DD Blogs along with Spanking Blogs and Author Blogs that are showing the Love Our Lurkers (LOL / L8L) logo pictures indicating where there are even more blogs to visit and De-Lurk yourself  :)

Since this is a highly visited site, I have to moderate out advertisers. So after making your comment, it might only be a few mins before it pops up, or a few hours. I'll check in often!
